Sands Foundation has established partnerships with organizations throughout Southern Nevada. We are continually building upon these existing relationships and finding additional partners to double our efforts within the community.

The Public Education Foundation
For over fifteen years, The Public Education Foundation has made a difference in Clark County’s public schools. Inspired by a belief that improving our public schools was too big a task for a school district to undertake alone, The Public Education Foundation was established as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit Nevada Corporation. The Public Education Foundation works with teachers to provide students with the support necessary to not only succeed in the classroom, but to succeed in life.
Sands Foundation has an extensive partnership with The Public Education Foundation as a Circle of Friends Supporter. Over the past several years, Sands Foundation has donated tens of thousands of dollars each year to The Public Education Foundation for post-secondary scholarships, empowerment school resources, the Helpzone.org website, and event sponsorships including the Education Hero Award Dinner. Recently Sands Foundation, The Public Education Foundation, and Blue Man Group partnered to develop curriculum for at-risk elementary school children. The curriculum helps students learn about the science and music behind the Blue Man Group show and culminates in the students attending a special performance. The Venetian and Palazzo are committed to empowering our educational institutions and building upon this important relationship.
Asian Chamber of Commerce | Latin Chamber of Commerce | Urban Chamber of Commerce
The Venetian and Palazzo are proud to operate a diverse business; thus, partnerships with the Asian Chamber of Commerce, the Latin Chamber of Commerce, and the Urban Chamber of Commerce are important to Las Vegas Sands Corp. and its management. Sands Foundation sponsors events for the organizations in addition to monetary contributions to promote the businesses of the chambers and to provide post-secondary educational scholarships which the chambers give to minority students. The Venetian and Palazzo value our relationships with these cornerstones in the Southern Nevada Community and look forward to building upon the success we have already shared.
Spread the Word Nevada – Kids to Kids
Kids to Kids is a children's literacy project sponsored by Spread the Word Nevada. The ownership of books is a critical factor in every child's intellectual development. Kids to Kids puts books into the homes of children and gives them the opportunity to develop their own personal library collections. The flagship program of Kids to Kids distributes books to students in at-risk elementary schools throughout Southern Nevada. Sands Foundation has sponsored the annual Kids to Kids’ Storybook Gala for the past seven years at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. Last year at the gala, the organization celebrated giving its one millionth book to a child in Southern Nevada.

Event Highlights
Blue Man Group/Public Education Foundation Partnership
The Blue Man Group began its pilot program in the Fall of 2008 with curriculum for at-risk children in Clark County to learn about the science and music of the Blue Man Group Production. The two shows were attended by over 3,000 at-risk fourth and fifth grade students.
Kids to Kids Storybook Gala
Spread the Word Nevada – Kids to Kids just celebrated the distribution of its one millionth book at their Storybook Gala held at The Venetian. Kids to Kids is a literacy program putting books in the hands children. The annual Storybook Gala is the organization’s annual fundraiser. Sands Foundation has hosted the event for seven years and is honored to partner with such a wonderful cause.
Urban Chamber of Commerce Annual Scholarship Awards Event
Each year, Sands Foundation sponsors post-secondary scholarships for ten individuals through the Urban Chamber of Commerce. The scholarship recipients are pictured below at last year’s awards ceremony.
March of Dimes Signature Chef Event
March of Dimes hosts its Signature Chef fundraiser at The Venetian. Many of the finest chefs in Las Vegas serve guests with a sampling of their delicious cuisine. The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino is proud to be the location of this exceptional event in the Southern Nevada community to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
2008 “Aid for AIDS Walk” Event
Team Members from The Venetian and The Palazzo participated in the Aid for AIDS Walk to raise awareness and money for this cause. Team Members and members of the cast of Phantom of the Opera volunteered for the fundraising walk.
CASA Annual Dinner
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Clark County, Las Vegas, believes that all children have the right to safe, healthy, stable homes, free from abuse and neglect. CASA trains volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the Clark County Family Court. The volunteers prevent the child from getting lost in the system. Sands Foundation is proud to sponsor CASA’s Annual Dinner at The Venetian to protect children who urgently need safe and permanent homes, educational and healthcare services, and the support of a responsible and caring adult.
Empowerment School
Sands Foundation sponsors Kitty McDonough Ward Elementary, an Empowerment School within the Clark County School District. Empowered schools are granted autonomy to decide issues relating to the operation of the school including schedule, governance, employee incentives, staffing, budgeting, and instruction, but they are expected to be accountable to ensure that students are achieving certain academic achievement goals and standards.
“Where I Live” Event – Nevada Department of Housing
Each year, the Nevada Department of Housing holds an annual school-arts contest, “Where I Live.” Sands Foundation is a proud partner for this event and hosts the art exhibit and reception for the children at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
